Sorry for the lack of updates, I've still been doing art but have been pretty bad about updating anywhere honestly. Just wanted to let folks know I'm still alive. I have a pile of art I should get around to posting when I have some more time, but projects and work come first.

My current project has been illustrations for the Eerie Florida book series. I know I tend to the cuter art, but creepy has always been in my background too. I used to read all the spooky stories and horror books when I was a kid :) As of right now, the first book is out and we're closing on the deadline for the second, which is Strange Florida and will be coming Sept 2018. We are discussing a third, possibly Haunted Florida, in the future, and who knows maybe more.

You can find Eerie Florida pretty much anywhere you like to buy books including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc. It is available through the main book distributors, so even your local store should be able to order it.

We've been doing a lot of driving around for research and photography for all the stories, which has been fun. I have also been attending Florida conventions here and there promoting the book, so maybe you've seen me around :) Some of them include Supercon and Spooky Empire.

The best place to find me right now is on Facebook!

I will be at Megaplex in Orlando, FL this coming weekend! July 25-27th.
I wasn't able to get a table in the Dealers Den this year, but I will be setting up in Artist Alley. I plan to be there Friday and Saturday for sure, but Sunday I'll have to play by ear- its a shorter day, and I'm driving back and forth from Palm Harbor, so I need to at least make up the cost of gas for going. Also I plan on being there long days Fri and Sat, so I may just be utterly exhausted by then. Its likely unless I have a really good reason to go, I won't be there Sun.

Since I'll just have the small Artist Alley table space (which is pretty small), I'm going to just have my pin buttons and be doing commissions. I'll have some new additions to commissions- I've been really liking my brush pens, and I *just* got a set of greyscale copic markers, so those options will be available. Hah, honestly maybe I work in too many different media lol. So I'll have everything from pencil sketches, inked stuff, copic greyscales, to Prismacolor or Watercolor Pencil full color pieces. I'll be doing 3x4" Badges, 2x3" Keychains, 2.5x3.5" Art Cards, and 6x8" Commissions. I'll also have my Android tablet if anyone wants digital quickies.
I'm pretty open to whatever, and can draw most anything. I don't know if I'll have internet access while there, so it may limit me a bit in looking up references, so if you could bring character samples that'd be fantastic. I can always take a picture and give it right back to you.

My convention prices are:

3x4” Badge Art
Badges are a soft plastic holder, and come with a removable v-clip.
Horizontal or Vertical orientation.

$8 - Lineart
$12 - Flat Color
$15 - Detailed Shading Color

2x3” Keychain Art
Art card within a flat hard plastic keychain.

$8 - Lineart
$10 - Detailed Shading Monochrome (B/W)
$12 - Flat Color
$15 - Detailed Shading Color

2.5x3.5” Art Card (ATC)
The size of regular trading cards. Includes a protective holder.

$3 - Sketch
$5 - Lineart
$8 - Detailed Shading Monochrome (B/W)
$10 - Flat Color
$13 - Detailed Shading Color

6x8” Art
Includes a protective holder.

$5 - Sketch
$8 - Lineart
$12 - Detailed Shading Monochrome (B/W)
$14 - Flat Color
$18 - Detailed Shading Color

Digital Art
Drawn on a tablet with Layer Paint at 1500x2100 and 300 dpi. Suitable for printing at 5x7”
Sent via email in .psd and .png format.

$3 - Sketch
$10 - Flat Color

If you know you want something for pickup at the con and want me to get it started before the con starts, just let me know!

I'll also have my Nintendo 3DS with me as usual, because Streetpasses! I'd really like to hit up some more people who have Tomodachi Life.

I will be at Megaplex this coming weekend, starting July 26th! my.megaplexcon.org/dealers
I will be there for sure Fri and Sat, but I'm not sure about Sun. It kinda depends how well I do if it'll be worth the drive to come back for a shorter day.
The Dealers Den hours are a little iffy, but it sounds like 10am-6 or 7pm. I will move over to Artist Alley if I can for part of the evening after the Den closes. I may be a little late in the morning depending on traffic- I'll be driving over and back from Tampa each day, which is about 2 hours. So don't worry if you don't see me first thing in the morning.

I will be offering a variety of commissions- badges, keychains, art cards, and digital work. Art will be anywhere from $3 to $15 depending on your preference and budget. This will be my first time offering digital commissions, since I'll have my Android tablet with me. I love that tablet so I look forward to it!
I will also have my cute pin buttons and charm necklaces. I have been wanting to focus more on doing commissions, so I hope I will be able to make new work for a lot of people :)

I will have my 3DS so look for me in your Streetpasses ;) I have the new Mii Plaza games too, and a lot of Puzzle Swap pieces.

In life updates, I still havn't been as artistically active as I wanted to be, and I'm finishing up moving again- I've got most of my stuff moved, but I need to get the rest organized and some stuff packed away. I'm back living with wonderful friends which is good, but I'm still not great financially. I'm still working full time at the comic shop, which I enjoy, but doesn't really do more than meet basic needs.
Unfortunately being moved didn't seem to agree with my computer, it started acting up worse than usual and we finally figured out one of my memory sticks went bad (which has happened before.) Man, those are more expensive than I remember. And then once the bad one was taken out and my computer was at least running with just one, my main monitor went dead. I have a small LCD I had been using as a secondary monitor so at least I have something, but its not good enough to do a lot with, and the color on it is off.
I also need to buy a wireless card because we don't have enough plug-in ports in our router... ach poor computer.

To update my previous post, my cat Kyoko passed away back in April- she wasn't really responding to the hyperthyroid medications and we had to put her to sleep. That was really hard for me seeing her waste away and having to let her go. For several months leading up to that it was constant vet visits, trying different meds, different food, and having to inject her with fluids. If you want to know the details you can read my journal kitsune-rei.livejournal.com/59…

I hope to get back to work on art after the convention. I still have a couple pieces floating around I did a while ago and still need to post in my gallery, plus I should have some new work after the convention!
I want to even get back into Livestreaming, but my computer needs to get fixed up first. Always hurdles!

I feel a little sad just doing this convention this year since I do enjoy doing them. I hope to catch an Elliott's, and maybe next year cons like FWA, Megacon, and AWA will be more feasible for me.
Unfortunately Big Bang Bazaar went really poorly so I don't know if I'll be looking more into crafts convention, especially since I'd rather focus more on arts than crafts nowadays.

In other randomness, Steam got me with their summer sale so I'm on that a bit more, though until I fix my computer I can't run some of the games (darnit!). Man so many great games so cheap!! I generally recommend anything I own.
But if you're on there you can add me if you like- steamcommunity.com/id/kitsuner…  raptr.com/Kitsune_Rei/about

After a lot of thought (trust me, I think about it a lot, its been brewing well over a year), I've changed my name. This will also be effective on the main sites I use where I can (some I cannot change.) I've felt for a while my old name is not quite me anymore. For more reasons, thoughts, and details you can see my LJ entry-  kitsune-rei.livejournal.com/59…

I've also looked into conventions for this year, and its a pretty small list so far. I poked around for more furry and anime cons worth going to, and couldn't find any. I don't really see any other FL furry cons other than Elliotts, and while there are more smaller anime cons springing up everywhere, I'm not really convinced they're worth my time and money (it seems like artist alley tables seem to be considered $75 as a norm regardless of how green your con is or what your attendance is.)
I'm not organized enough right now (ie not enough new already made merch) to be worth going to cons as far as Atlanta, though I hope to be able to pick up AWA and/or FWA next year. I am curious about finding more geeky-themed crafting shows (or at least shows where that sort of stuff would sell) in FL. Maybe they don't exist.

March 23- Big Bang Bazaar: Nerd is the word- Maitland, FL (a friend told me about this, it sounded like a fun experience. Basically a craft show with a nerd theme.) www.bigbangbazaar.net/
July 26-28- Megaplex- Orlando, FL www.megaplexcon.org/

I was going to poke my nose in Metrocon one day, but unfortunately its the same weekend as Megaplex so I will probably not unless I bail on Sun to go.

I plan on attending Megacon one day, Fri or Sat. I hope to eventually have enough stuff to be worth doing that convention again one day.

As far as fun dream cons go, I'd really like to go to PAX East one day. I actually got a ticket this year as a "just in case" because I know how fast they sell out, but I can't afford to go so I'm re-selling it to a friend.

I also want to say thank you to everyone who has been a supportive fan of mine. I really do appreciate you guys :D Sorry I've been so quiet as of late, I've been trying to get my life back in order. I moved back in Fall, and my cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism but isn't responding well to treatment so I have been upset with that :<
I got a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 for Xmas and it rocks, so I hope to be making more digital art on that too :D

Oh yeah and I'm addicted to Guild Wars 2 >.>
